On Saturday 20th May, Housing Plus will hosting the White Tie Ball. This is an annual event to raise money to support the women and children who will be staying with us at The Orchard.

The White Tie Ball was first held in 2017, and over the past five events we have raised over $290,000 to support women and children escaping domestic violence.

61 women and 76 children have stayed at The Orchard since we opened our doors two years ago.

“They say there is a light at the end of every tunnel, being at The Orchard is that light. Knowing that the kids and I are not only safe, but we are also supported, fed, have clean clothes and a bed to sleep in. A safe haven until I rebuild myself again. Having Bernie and the other workers around is helping me become the strong independent, caring mother I aim to be” says an Orchard resident (name withheld to protect identity)

Women staying at The Orchard may arrive with nothing, proceeds from the White Tie Ball will provide clothing, food, household items, everyday items they need to start again.

The event will be held at the Orange Ex-Services Club commencing at 6pm and will include a 3-course meal, and live charity auction. We encourage our community to join us for a great night out for a good cause, dance the night away with local superstar Robbie Mortimer

Tickets for the White Tie Ball are on sale from Monday 20th March, and are available online from the Orange Ex-Services Club https://www.oesc.com.au/whatson

Tickets are $140 per person (plus booking fee) you can make bookings as individuals, or you can organise a table of 8.

The White Tie Ball is being organised by The Orchard Fundraising Committee, volunteers from the community. Chair, Julianne Potts and committee members Sue Burke, Libby Seaman, Christine Chiarella, Lilly Castor, Rochelle Monaghan and Bernie Allen.
