Supported Clients Nomination

Policy

Housing Plus will continue to plan initiatives with other organisations and joint venture partners to target dwellings for specific client groups within the area of supported or non-supported programs. These high need groups will be those that have been identified through the needs analysis, community consultations/forums and specific meetings dealing with particular client groups.

Housing Plus will from time to time enter into arrangements with suitably qualified services for the provision of supported accommodation to recognise special needs groups within its area, in terms of which Housing Plus acts as the property manager and its partner as the client support.

In any such case Housing Plus may in terms of its arrangements with the support group afford the support group the right to nominate the clients to occupy the property, provided the support group does so on a needs basis from within the recognised special needs group.

Housing Plus will initiate a planned approach to meet the needs of client groups either through linkages with other housing providers or by looking at alternative funding programs for further development of local services.

Procedures

All such arrangements shall be negotiated between the Tenancy Officer and the support group and shall be evidenced by a written agreement, which shall be approved by Tenancy Services Manager after consultation with the Chief Operating Officer.

Any such agreement shall ensure that the support group, on a needs basis, makes nominations equitably, from the target special needs group. Once selected the clients subject to any limitations in the support agreement, are treated in all respects as clients of Housing Plus in accordance with these policies and procedures.
