Housing Plus has a long track record of investing in projects that deliver social value in regional communities, particularly initiatives aimed at ending homelessness, and domestic and family violence.
The Housing Plus ‘Community Foundation’ has been established to drive fundraising in the region, with 100% of funding raised going directly to projects that deliver measurable change.
What is funding used for?
There is a specific focus on projects that support people experiencing significant disadvantage, including:
Young people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness
Women, men and children experiencing domestic and family violence; and
Young people experiencing, or at risk of, long-term unemployment
These priority areas have been determined based on community need and gaps in existing service provision, and will be revised regularly to ensure funding is put to best use.
How do we raise funds?
Funding for our ‘Community Foundation’ is raised through:
In Memoriam donations
Our goal in 2017 is to build a crisis centre for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. So far, we have raised $1.1 million towards the $1.7 million total project cost.
