Every week at Food Care Orange we have a range of cheap frozen and fresh food, grocery and personal items.

You can always expect to find:

Fresh fruit & vegetables (whatever is in season)
Milk
Bread
Dried goods (pasta, rice, noodles)
Canned food (beans, spaghetti, tomatoes)
Health & beauty products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste)

To shop at Food Care Orange you need to become a registered member, which is very easy:

1. Visit the Food Care Orange shop on a Tuesday between 9.30 to 12.30 at the Garema Community Centre, Garema Rd, Glenroi

2. Bring your Centrelink, Pension or Healthcare card plus a drivers licence or utility bill to verify your address

3. Complete the membership form provided (our volunteers can help you) and receive a membership card. We only allow one registration for each household

4. Get ready to shop every Tuesday between 9.30 to 12.30 at Food Care Orange

TRANSPORT

Bus Route No 531 goes through Glenroi daily for more information click here. Alternatively, you can call Community Transport on 6362 6554. They will need to register you as a client and there will be a small charge for the bus. Talk to them about how to arrange pick ups and drop offs.

Bathurst Food Bowl

The BCCC Food Bowl is a community based program that is available to anyone that holds a current pension, veterans or health care card. You can also use the program if you have a referral letter from a welfare agency. Food Bowl runs every Thursday between 9am and 12pm

You are able to register on the day and all you need to bring with you is your current Centerlink issued card or referral letter along with a utilities bill. Please note that we only allow one person per household to register. After registering, you will have the option to either select 11 items for $15 or 22 items for $25. Fruits, vegetables and bread are supplied to you at no additional cost.

Once you have selected your items our lovely volunteers and staff with gather up your items while you enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee along with a yummy biscuit.

Please note that our list of food, fruit, vegetables and bread are subject to availability and may change or be unavailable.
